Congratulation
on your admission to Iowa State University! Now
that you have been accepted, let us help you pay for it! The Kansas
City Iowa State University Alumni Club sponsors two scholarships to
Iowa State every year. These scholarships are generally for first year
freshmen entering ISU; however, they are renewable for subsequent years
based on the student meeting certain qualifications.
One
scholarship award of $1,000 (renewable each year at $500) and one of
$500 (renewable each year at $250) is available for the Kim Bailey and
Sandra J. Chandler Memorial Scholarships, respectively. Each award is
given to a first-year student from a high school in the Kansas City
metropolitan area (no, your parents don’t have to be
alumni!).
While
the same application will be used for each scholarship, the applicant
is eligible to receive only one scholarship, Students must be admitted
to Iowa State, have completed the FAFSA, and be ranked in the top 25
percent of their high school graduating class. Selection will be based
on leadership capabilities, academic achievements, character and
personality, with a special emphasis on financial need.
