Dec. 11 - Toys for Tots Drive at ISU/Iowa BB GAMEWATCH

Color it Cardinal and let’s chant Beat the Hawks! Come to The Brooksider to watch Iowa State beat Iowa in men’s basketball. This is also our annual Toys for Tots Charity event, so please bring a new (packaged but unwrapped) toy to give to the Salvation Army for Toys for Tots. The Alumni Club of Kansas City has reserved the basement party room for the game watch, where you can enjoy appetizers and mug specials throughout the game!

BUS TRIP TO MANHATTAN

The game time has been set for 2:30. Feel free to bring coolers with your favorite beverage for the trip and tailgate. We will be providing food to grill out but if you want any additional sides, please bring them. Also, if anybody has a portable grill can you bring that as well, to make the food grilling go a little quicker.

• 9:30 AM - Bus arrives at Fox and Hound parking lot (about 105th and Metcalf)
• 10:00 AM - Bus leaves parking lot for Manhattan. Enjoy Cyclone/Hawkeye game from 2005 as it was the last game worth showing

Tour of The Roasterie & Cyclone Happy Hour at The Cashew

The Iowa State University Alumni Association (ISUAA) Club of Kansas City is excited to announce a new series of events that will take place on the first Thursday of every month - i.e. First Thursdays. These events will take place at a variety of different venues across the KC metro and will consist of both networking and family activities, designed to involve area Cyclones in more ISUAA-sponsored events throughout Kansas City.

Our 1st First Thursday is a Networking Event on Thursday, January 5th at The Roasterie. Iowa State alumni and friends are invited to attend a FREE tour of The Roasterie, hosted by Danny O'Neil, owner of The Roasterie and fellow ISU alum. Each person who attends will receive complimentary coffee during the tour and a free sample of delicious gourmet Roasterie coffee upon departure. Also, everyone who attends The Roasterie tour will be entered into a raffle to win everything from Gourmet Roasterie Coffee Blends, a gift certificate to the NEW Roasterie Café in Brookside, ISU merchandise, and much more! The Other Place in Olathe will be hosting the official Iowa State vs. Iowa gamewatch. The OP will be showing ISU Football Highlight tapes before the game, asking fans ISU Trivia questions for Door Prizes, entering fans into a raffle for every beer purchased, and offering Cyclone fans a 10% discount on food* throughout the day for all Iowa State Alumni who show their ISU Alumni Association card. Join fellow Cyclone fans at the OP in Olathe to help cheer the Cyclones on to a victory over the Hawks! GO CYCLONES!

Join us for the first ever Kansas City Cy-Hawk Golf Tournament! Alumni, friends, and fans of both schools will tee it up for this special event. The tournament will be held at St. Andrew’s Golf Course in Overland Park on May 21st. It will be fun for all levels of golfer.

The event will tee off at 8 a.m. with registration opening at 7 a.m. Prizes will be awarded in three divisions Iowa, Iowa State, and combo teams. A portion of the proceeds will go to each club’s scholarship program.

To celebrate, the local Iowa State Alumni Club will host a pre-tournament men’s basketball gamewatch at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 5th at Kelly’s Westport Inn. The Cyclones will try to regain their winning streak against Colorado.

Kelly’s, which recently upgraded two of their TVs to big screen plasmas, will have drink specials for all Cyclone fans.

The party will continue at Kelly’s for all ISU fans during the Big 12 Tournament.
