K-State,
Iowa State to
meet at
Arrowhead in 2009, 2010 By
JEFFREY MARTIN The
Kansas City Star
Kansas
State and Iowa
State will begin a two-year football series at
Arrowhead Stadium starting in the 2009 season, sources told The Star
today.
K-State
and Iowa
State officials are scheduled to announce the games at
10:30 a.m. Thursday at Arrowhead. The first game is scheduled for Oct.
3, 2009, with the second on Oct. 9, 2010.
K-State
has played
four games at Arrowhead - a 27-7 victory over Iowa
in the 2000 Eddie Robinson Classic; a 27-24 loss to Oklahoma in the
2000 Big 12 championship; a 42-28 victory over California in the 2003
BCA Classic; and a 35-7 victory over Oklahoma in the 2003 Big 12
championship.
Unless
a game is a
designated KC/ISU Gamewatch
Event (and you will
know which those are because they'll be listed on the upcoming events
page on our web site), we can't guarantee that any of the locations on
our gamewatch list will definitely have the game. We hope they will,
but sometimes they won't, sometimes they can't, we can't control it.
And:
Most
of the time, if a
place can
get a game and patrons want to see it, they'll do what they can to get
it on the screen. Consider that sometimes it's just not possible for a
location to get a particular game. So don't assume that just because
the ISU game isn't showing somewhere, it's because they want to cheese
us off.
CYCLONE
TV COVERAGE FAQ
Evidently,
Iowa State’s
Athletics Department gets more inquiries about television coverage of
Cyclone sports than nearly any other topic. Given that, we have been
given this FAQ
list on live
television
coverage of Big 12 football in general, the state-wide coverage
challenges when the Cyclones are on TV and several options for fans to
consider when ISU football games are not televised.
